What is the purpose of squeegee blade kits and rubbers?


Squeegee blades are one of the most common consumable parts fitted on a floor scrubber or sweeper-scrubber designed to collect dirty water and residue from a surface. Squeegee blades are fixed to the squeegee tool that is mounted on the machine behind the scrub brushes, designed to retrieve the dirty water and dry the floor. 

Squeegee blades can come in a variety of material types to better suit the type of surface and residue being cleaned. Some of the most common types are gum natural rubber (for general purpose), red gum natural rubber (for hot water cleaning), primothane, polyurethane and pentathane (for oily or chemical based applications).

When should a squeegee blade be replaced?


Over time the squeegee blades will wear down and require replacement. The easiest sign that a squeegee rubber needs replacing is checking whether the machine is leaving streaks on the floor or not drying the floor effectively. Checking if there are tears on the blade is another sign to check. Most scrubber dryer model squeegee blades are designed to have four wearable edges so they can be rotated when worn to increase life.
